AGI Infra Limited, a renowned real estate company in Punjab, has achieved a significant milestone by developing two large ‘Guru Nanak Sacred Forests’ within their projects. These forests, located in Jalandhar Heights-3 and Jalandhar Heights-4, feature over 10,000 plants of 43 rare and endangered native tree species. This is the first time a real estate company in Punjab has undertaken such a massive forestation project.
The company’s Managing Director, Dr. Sukhdev Singh, Director Madam Salvinderjit Kaur, Project Director Varinder Singh, and his wife Madam Harvinder Kaur, planted trees to mark the completion of the project. The company’s senior management and other dignitaries were also present.
The project was completed in collaboration with Eco Sikh Foundation, an expert organization in forestation. The company had signed an agreement with Eco Sikh Foundation to plant 10,000 trees within their projects.
Dr. Sukhdev Singh expressed his delight at the completion of the project, stating that such small nano forests can significantly improve our disrupted ecosystem and help mitigate global warming threats. He praised the entire AGI team and the Eco Sikh Foundation for their efforts.
During the event, a book written by Jasbir Wattawali, providing detailed information about the 43 native tree species planted in the forest, was presented to the Eco Sikh Foundation. The book highlights the unique characteristics, Ayurvedic uses, commercial uses, and other uses of these tree species.
